College Student are you ready for some Professional Experience in Sports & Event Management?

The Connecticut Sports Management Group has open positions for college students seeking a short term or full semester summer internship. Students will gain valuable experience in sport and event management while assisting in the organization of the following events:

Nutmeg State Games: The Official State Games of Connecticut offering over 26 different sport tournaments and competitions for Connecticut Athletes. The “Games” are the largest sport festival with over 6,000 athletes competing annually!

Connecticut Senior Games: The State Games for Master’s competitions offering over 14 different sport competitions to athletes 50 & over!

Interns will have the opportunity to work with all the events mentioned above in the following capacities:

Recruiting & Corresponding with Coaches, Athletes, Officials, Medical Staff & Volunteers.
Scheduling: Sporting Events, Officials & Volunteers.
Directing & Managing: Game Sites and Sport Competitions Management.
General Advertising and Marketing.
Supplies, Equipment, Signage, Uniforms, Concessions, Sponsor Development & Ticketing.

Internships are available to present college students involved in sports and recreation management as a career. Three position are available for full time internships from the beginning of May through the middle of August. This program should meet credit requirements and will pay a salary stipend. Resumes will be accepted from November (2009) through February (2010). Interviews will be scheduled during this period as well. 3 Full Time Internship Positions are available.
